the toughest 'bestis' anyone can have

Hanne, my Hanne. My best friend and biggest idol!

work-work-work

I also did a job shooting a bride-to-be in her bachelor party. Fun. But not my most artistic pics...

Sister Model

When in Oslo working, my sister gets the sometimes boring job of being my model, when I miss photographing. This is some of the results from the summer...

Time passing by

Then suddenly more than four months has passes without blogging. I dont't know why, but it's not important. Here are some photos of all the fun we've had recently. One collage is from our recent opening of Fatamorgana summer exhibition in Henningsen Contemporary in Copenhagen. The second collage is from different occasions this spring. Great friends and great fun!

Piratpigene/Pirate Girls

The best journalist babe from Oslo Guro was here visiting this weekend! The Pirate Girls loaded their guns at the bar in Hanne's apartment before hitting the stormy CPH night.

Beijing part 2

I’m Home! Sitting in the common room at The Red Lantern House No 3 – have just had a bowl of amazing dumplings with spring onions and herbs – offered me by the family who runs the hotel. Around a big table a group of seven men and one woman smoke, talk and feed etch other. Among them is also William, my host, the musician. I’m home. After two days I actually look foreward to getting back to the hotel. Not to take a hot shower (the bathroom is icecold), not to linger on my bed (the room is good, but also cold, and I have begun to speek to myself when I’m alone already). I’m exited to get into the warm atmosphere of the Li-family. Scott (the teen) is half sleeping on the sofa next to me, and William’s wife picks her teeth with a toothstick.

Finally I’m getting defrosted. Wearing my new woollen trousers, sold me by Beijings two smartest sellers. I went into this old fashion womans clotes store to see if I could get hold of a woollen cardigan. The store was packed with pink dressed women and just a few customers. Naturally my wallet was up for trouble. First I sort of had to buy a cardigan. Fair enough, I was asking for one. But after successfully communicating that I was freezing (by the not so smart looking language of body) they wanted to sell me these woollen trousers. They actually looked kind of smart, but they were on the prizy side. I asked if I could try them on, since one size did not look like my size, but aperantly the store had no fittingroom. When one of the dames was about to write the check, I told them I had to think about it. But suddenly there was an opportunity for me to try them on anyway. I was guided into a door hidden in the wall and helped out of my jeans and into the wool. They did fit, but as I tried to take them off, I was told to take my jeans on top of them. No protest accepted. After that the pink, smiling lady escorted me – and my now two bills – to the counter. After all I am warm now. and the whole business was worth every penny in a good laughter. To be so effectively fooled is just splendid. At least when I’m sort of happy with the result!

Now the party are getting into a mighty good mood over here. I better order a pot of thé, or maybe a glass of what they are drinking... And here is what happenes when you shoot Chinese tourists in the Tiananmen Square – they “give you your picture” too.

Beijing part 1

Kinesiske nødskrik
TV'n på. Alltid på?
Et kjærlighetsdrama.

Kalde hender. Røde lykter.
Urolig mage.
Sulten,

Nelliker og nerver.
Desperat krangel.

Grønnsaker med ris.
Jetlag og hjemmehygge.
Oppgjørets time.

Dovendyr i fortfilm. Ørner

Paying the bill. 20 kroner.
Full mage. Tre kopper

Ilninger i fingrene.
Krig. Japanerne er fienden.

To strenger. William vil spille for meg.

To strenger. Tusen toner. All tid i verden. Årtuseners historie. Gammel kone med whiskeyrøst. Julepynten virvler i trekken.

Fata-vernisage

I've been byting Hanne's Christmas-collage a bit. You have to take it as a compliment, Hanne! Some pics just look better in a collage...

Anyway: last Thursday we had a big opening of our exibition on Lauritz Kunsthal. This is a summary...

Ventetid

5000 husstander strømløse i Agder-fylkene. Julestemning. På nyåret.

Ventetid. Tidlig ute. I siste liten. Stresset, men glad for å ha klart det. Uten ventetid.

Men nå har jeg ventetid. Og nyter det. Selvfølgelig nyter jeg det. Det er søndag. Alt som venter i København er søndag. Lukkede butikker og mer ventetid. Frirom. Litt vridd bluesaktig. Lurer på hva hun skal. Kanskje hun skal til København hun også. Holde konsert.

”To go”-kaffe til å sitte ned med. SAS flyet utenfor vinduet snør snart ned. 55 minutter til departure time. Planlagt avgangstid. Matpakke. Gate 47. DY955 til København. ”New time”.

It's "nisser" in my street

Ok, now I'm becoming superstitious! First I lost my bike-lights. And last weekend I lost my bike-lock. Ok, that happens. So I bought new lights and a new lock (they're luckily almost free at the cheapy-cheap store Tiger.) Fine. Two days and then my front light went out of power. And the bike-lock was less than a week old before I lost that one as well. Ok, so I got a third one yesterday. And this time I decided always to lock it to my bike when I'm biking. Good plan. The only problem is that this morning, when I was already a bit late for my appointment with my hairdresser, I could not find my bike-keys. And I new I had them on my key-chain last night – because I had to unlock the lock before I could lock the bike outside my door.

So now I think that someone is trying to prevent me from biking. Strange... But after all it's December, and the tiny guys with long beards and blue hats are out and about! Just got to find something to clip my lock with (now it's a good thing that it's cheap and lousy quality), and buy myself the fourth lock - maybe I should get one with a code now?

Autumn on my Holga

China!

Just bought a ticket to Beijing in January! 15 days, visiting Pia and hanging out with the Fatamorgana-people who are there partly at the same time. Nice!

Workshop with a painter

Last week we had a workshop with the danish painter Anders Kirkegaard. We all had to shoot the same things, like a portrait of him and som fruit. After 18 people had used the fruit it was no longer fresh and delicious, but I actually think the rotten look works great.

Trying to catch pneumonia

Went to the beach today to shoot some pics of me and my red raincoat for an assignment with an item that is special to me... With a cold and a great assistant, it went well, until I a couple of hours later found out that I had shoot it all on 1600 iso, and that my cold had returned, stronger than ever. But tomorrow the pants have to go again... F***!
Tara the queen of assistants!

Entering the dark

A lot of talk. That's me. A lot of ideas and things that I wanna do. Too many ideas and too many plans often ends up with none done, nowhere traveled and no goals achieved. Simply said: I want to much. At the same time.

So, it's time to add up what I have achieved, and what I really want to do in the near future. And stop making plans for three year (read: my whole life) ahead.

Achieved:
*Went to Denmark
*Started making photos for real
*Went to Copenhagen
*Started at Fatamorgana
*Live by myself
*Bought an old Polaroid camera (this afternoon)
... and VERY NICE (...and very expensive) photo paper for making (hopefully) some VERY NICE pix in the dark room at school

Goals:
*Use the damn dark room at school for making some very nice and expensive (for my buyers that is) copies of some very nice pictures I have not yet shoot
*Going to China to visit my CPH-friend Pia
*Going to South America with my sister
*Going to NY (and maybe Texas) to work with my Volda/Oslo-friend Randi (and maybe Guro??? maybe somewhere else in the US??? what do you say Guro? Da Capo? New adventures with Bob and Laura?)
*Selling a shit load of pictures and stories from all my adventures
So what do you say? Anyone up for betting money on me getting my ass out of the couch and on a plane? OK, at least bet on me getting into that dark room, please! Anyone?..?
